Playing with Purpose: A Coaching Group for Early Career Professionals

Psychologists have long theorized about the rich and dynamic period of early adulthood. While the fundamental task of finding one’s place in society — of feeling like you are contributing in a meaningful and genuine way — remains constant, adults in the modern workplace often find themselves feeling untethered as they try to establish a sense of purpose in an increasingly unpredictable and open-ended world.

This group is for you if you are:

  • Trying to find a sense of purpose that transcends a work/life binary

  • Interested in defining success on your own terms, while recognizing that the best learning is done in community

  • Feeling disengaged, stagnant, or directionless in your current role

  • Plagued by a fear of wasting time, but at the same time unsure of the most valuable way to use your time

  • Prone to an arrival fallacy (i.e., “I will feel successful/worthy/valuable once I….”)

  • Willing to reconnect with play to access a sense of creativity and imagination
